Aalberts surface treatment, a PVD speciality coating facility operating in Woonsocket, RI, has today been recognized as being a front runner in the realm of PVD coatings for R&D within the medical device market.
Aalberts surface treatment has been operating in the PVD coatings market for 32 years and competes against notable businesses such as Oerlikon Blazers and Richter Precision. They have been able to make such a strong impression on the market and gain reputation by being in the PVD coating market for more than 30 years which has given them the experience of working with many substrates and various coating recipes for application on these materials..
Steve Muccino, Aalberts surface treatment’s Plant Manager spoke about its recent recognition, expanding on some of the decisions and motivations that led the business to the level it’s currently reached.
“When Aalberts surface treatment was founded, it was made abundantly clear we wanted to be the kind of company that was known for being a surface coating technologies company that is a global surface service provider, with the focus on improving material in terms of coatings and other surface technologies such as heat treatment for regional and global customers. One of the biggest challenges we faced was like most companies around the world when the COVID-19 pandemic placed a huge strain on the resources and suppliers ability to deliver the coating targets needed to complete work in a timely manner for delivery. Fortunately with some good people behind us, and the motto of Aalberts surface treatment, “winning with people” they make up the best asset we have, we were able to overcome every obstacle and really hit our stride.”
Steve Muccino also mentioned Aalberts surface treatment’s future plans involve upgrades to the Woonsocket, RI plant over the next few years with a new main chiller system being installed this year. It’s the hope of the company that with the COVID-19 pandemic behind them they can continue to expand their PVD line of coating technologies.
Aalberts surface treatment plans to maintain its position at the forefront of PVD coatings for R&D within the medical device market for years to come, building on its success, finding new ways to serve its community, customers and the world at large.
